On Saturday 29th February 2020 our Encounter Rooms were opened to a community event. Twenty people joined together to hear stories of God touching lives and transforming destinies. We shared journeys and rejoiced as we broke bread and joined in fellowship.
Our speakers Dr Rama Spencer, Pastor Eric Whitley and Anne Miettinen each encouraged us to step into a pioneering spirit, listening to God and stepping out in faith, regardless of the obstacles. Dr Maarit Harden shared the ten year vision she had for the building and how God had miraculously opened this space to be available as a prayer meeting and training room. The idea of having fun with God as we learn His ways, came through the name of the building The Play and Learn Centre.
Comments heard "I was so blessed to come today." "I am leaving relaxed and knowing that God is touching lives." "Thanks for putting this on today. I am so glad that I stayed even though I was only just poking my head in for a short time."
A dear friend turned up with a bunch of beautiful flowers and out of the foliage a tiny praying mantis jumped onto the table. The praying mantis has been a symbol of prayer for Maarit for many years. A group of us turned to pray together as we were reminded again to praise God for His goodness in bringing all the people together on this day.
We declared The Gap Encounter Rooms open for anyone coming who seeks prayer for healing, emotional wholeness and to encounter the One who made this all possible. Wednesday nights between 6 and 8 pm we will be here to meet with God and anyone He sends our way.
